Again, this part of California has the perfect weather in October. Making it perfect time to visit Joshua Tree National Park! With beautiful temperatures and clear skies, there are several activities that will make your trip truly memorable. ome days can be cold but sunny. Hiking and camping are great ways to experience the stunning desert landscape. There’s also birdwatching, mountain biking, and rock climbing if you’re looking for more of an adrenaline rush and you don’t have to overheat! We love visiting this time of the year becasue we could actually hike and explore with our kids.
For hikes some of the are Hidden Valley Trail, Barker Dam Loop, and the Ryan Mountain Trail offer a mix of beautiful rock formations, desert flora, and stunning vistas. The milder temperatures make these outdoor adventures much more enjoyable.

Many people is fan of Stargazing during this season in Joshua Tree National Park. Since is renowned for its dark skies, making it an ideal destination for stargazing. In October, the nights are crisp and clear, providing excellent conditions for observing the night sky. Consider bringing a telescope or simply lying on a blanket to marvel at the Milky Way and countless stars. The park sometimes hosts ranger-led astronomy programs, which can enhance your stargazing experience. We didn’t stay at the dessert during night but I hear is amazing!

Autumn in Los Angeles is a magical time! There are lots of fun events and activities to try.October is a great time to explore Los Angeles, the famous and fun city. The weather stays warm but not too hot with temperatures in the mid-60s to low 70s. Plus, you’ll get to experience the Dia de los Muertos festival and watch baseball games if you are into it. Again without draining the heat!
Discover Hollywood–where you’ll find the legendary Hollywood sign and the Walk of Fame. Look for famous names like Marilyn Monroe and Tom Hanks on the sidewalk. Don’t miss the TCL Chinese Theater, where you can see a movie in an old-fashioned setting. I will absolutely recommend you to Take a tour through Universal Studios Hollywood for a behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking. We love it. Visit places like the Psycho house and Diagon Alley, and try to spot some celebrities in action.
If you can afford it Shop for clothes and accessories at Rodeo Drive, where you’ll find the trendiest designer labels. Keep an eye out for stars too or just like me do window shopping and get your picture at this iconic road!
Once night comes, head out for some fun! Check out rooftop bars or exclusive clubs to dance and drink. We visited onec during afternnon with the kids and it was so fun. Get ready to be amazed by the city’s bright lights and vibrant energy.
Also, you can Visit a harvest festival or farmers market to sample all the seasonal treats like fresh apple pie, pumpkin-spiced latte, and caramel apples. If you wan to explore the city’s amazing natural beauty I recommend you to Visit Griffith Park for lots of hiking trails and an observatory where you can see the stars. Santa Monica Mountains is perfect for mountain biking or horseback riding – plus it’s still warm in October. Or head to Runyon Canyon for a beautiful hike and maybe even a celeb sighting!

5. Visit Yosemite National Park
If you are planning to be on this side of California Yosemite is the best place to visit. It is special during this time of the year. Before road get close to snow and when weather is less hot that you can enjoy hiking per hours around this Natural wonder. Enjoy the wonders of the great outdoors at this stunning nature retreat. You will find lush foliage and awe-inspiring granite cliffs of Yosemite Valley and explore the many variety of hiking trails and breathtaking views. Few reasons to visit Yosemite in October are: The crowds are smaller, the Weather is mild not as hot as in summer that lets you hike happily, Wildlife is in its splendor, and there is Leaf peeping and wonderful views.
You can do leaf peeping here because even that there is so much ever green trees there, also you find maple trees and black oak that during the fall make stunning backgrounds. It makes the views even more gorgeous. Where the foliage turns into spectacular shades of red, orange, and gold.
Great hikes during the time of the year are the Mist Trail to see Vernal and Nevada Falls or take on more challenging routes like the Half Dome trail for panoramic vistas if trails are not close.

We have spotted bears during this time of the year easily than other because there is less people that scared them away. Always used caution don’t approached or feed them. Stargazing is another must-do in October due to Yosemite’s Dark Sky Park status, plus the park often hosts astronomy programs. You’ll also have the chance to explore the rich history and culture of Yosemite, including the Yosemite Museum, Ansel Adams Gallery, and the historic Ahwahnee Hotel. Lastly, Tioga Road typically remains open into October, giving access to the high country of the park including Tuolumne Meadows which offers serene alpine lakes, unique hikes, and breathtaking scenery. We truly adore exploring the many gems in Big Sur this time of the year. Sometimes we get lucky to witness the whale migration that starts this month. Marvel at the views of the Pacific Ocean and the coastal cliffs from Bixby Creek Bridge, McWay Falls, and Pfeiffer Beach, all of which are easily accessible by car. For an even closer look, don’t miss out on the incredible hiking opportunities. Explore the McWay Waterfall Trail, the Ewoldsen Trail, and the Pfeiffer Falls Trail for breathtaking forests, waterfalls, and wildlife.
To experience the region’s natural beauty to the fullest, visit the state-run Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park and Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, where you can take a dip in the Big Sur River and relax at the campgrounds and picnic areas. If you’re looking to explore one of the park’s hiking trails, head over to the Cypress Grove, Bird Island, or Sea Lion Point Trails our most favorite hikes that are super easy. Keep your eyes open for marine mammals, such as seals, sea lions, and various seabirds. For certified divers, take the plunge and explore the incredible underwater kelp forests and rocky reefs but you have to get your permit. As I said October is also an optimal time for whale-watching, as gray whales, humpback whales, and orcas are often seen along the coastline during their migrations.
Photographers will love Point Lobos’ dramatic coastline and unique rock formations. With the soft lighting of October, it’s the ideal time to capture the natural beauty of the park. Well, the story tells that after many loses on her family members in short period of time she visited a medium who told her that she and her family were being haunted by the ghosts of people killed by Winchester rifles, that she must construct a house for these ghosts, and that she must never complete the project.
She started building in the late 19th century, the house has twisting and turning corridors, and is full of stories of paranormal presence that haunt the hallways.
